  • Damage to Property by Delivery Driver

Evening, I'm looking for some advice. A delivery driver caused damage to our septic tank around 3-4 months ago. The delivery was to my property but the septic tank is shared by me and the neighbour. The driver spoke to my neighbour after he was retrieved by a local farmer, and we contacted the contracted delivery company who claim they contacted the sub-contractor who actually did the delivery to ask them to be in touch. The sub-contractor has not replied to e mails or apparent chasing by the contractor (3 members of their staff) on our behalf. We called him a couple of weeks ago and left a message but again no response.

My question is - is the contractor or sub contractor the people we need to be pursuing? Is there any value in getting on contact with the retailer of the item that was delivered?

We're hitting a bit of a brick wall as the carrier is telling us it's not their responsiblity and we need to take it up with the sub contractor.

Contact the retailer, write a letter of complaint.
Make sure you include a time line, the communication
with the delivery company, etc. If you have pictures of
    the damaged tank, send them.

How did you pay for the item and how much was it?

This will be the responsibility of the delivery company (sub contractor) and the driver.

Have you made an insurance claim?
