  • Europcar Alleged Damage Claim

I am being threatened with litigation by the solicitors of Europcar for alleged damage to a courtesy car arranged through Zurich Insurance whilst my own car was being repaired. The courtesy car was dropped off at the repair shop in Liverpool on 8 May and Europcar acknowledged that they had picked it up. Subsequently their solicitors have sent me a letter threatening litigation for non payment of an invoice
The car had been hired through Zurich for around 4 weeks. On delivery the car had many scratches included scratches to the drivers door, which were listed in the paperwork. The delivery driver and I both took pictures. The existing scratches did not show up on their or my pictures. Subsequently Europcar are claiming an additional scratch on the drivers door. Their evidence does not clearly show either the existing or alleged new scratch. I need a solicitor should they proceed with litigation as I intend to contest their claims. Can anyone provide advice or contacts

    Hi SNIGGY

    Welcome to LB

Send them a letter disputing their claim which alleges damage to the car.
It maybe a speculative claim. where the car has existing scratches, 'so
lets just send a claim for damage'. If the customer pays up, great.

Summarize the car was collected on XX/XX/XX, that pictures were taken etc.
That no proof has been provided etc.

Make sure you get Proof of Postage.

Can you provide details (what happened) regards car repair, Zurich Insurance etc?
How did you pay for the insurance?
