  • Solicitors chasing

    Hi
Long story short.. I was paying a small amount monthly to a solicitors firm. There is a ccj. However after almost TWENTY years the balance is doubled to what the original amount was!!!
I left the country for over a year so stopped paying. However I'm back now and I know it's a matter of time before they get on to me again. I cannot cope with all this again. I have mental health issues and have been treated for stress and depression for years. At one point because of this I was contemplating suicide. What are my options.

How much approximately was the original debt and approximately how much is it now?

    What is the debt for?

Has it been increasing for 20 years because the creditor has been adding interest?

Did the CCJ specifically allow for continuing interest to be added?
All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.

          I have 2 questions:

          1. When did you last make a payment?

          2. When did you last receive any communication from this creditor or its solicitors?

I think there is a fair chance that they won't bother to chase you further, but this cannot be guaranteed.
