  • Can I serve notice and court papers est, on a FreePost address?

    Evening!

I want to send a letter to EMR claims department, but I only have an address of "freepost EMR DELAY REPAY"
Can I use this as a legal address to serve notice and court papers on or is it no good?

    Thanks

I would try to find another address. Is EMR a limited company? If so, you can get its registered office from Companies House.

If EMR is East Midlands Railways I believe that is only a trading name/brand name. If you are bringing legal proceedings you will need to find the name of the legal entity, the Limited company, who operates EMR and sue them.

Research the small print at the bottom of the EMR website and you should find it. Then you can find its Registered Office at Companies House.

EMR say it company information is operated by Transport UK Group.
Companies house says that they are a Passenger rail transport, interurban
TRANSPORT UK GROUP LIMITED overview - Find and update company information - GOV.UK

But at the bottom of there website it states © 2025 Transport UK East Midlands Ltd.
        Again a different company
