      Hi,

I would appreciate any advice regarding my defence.

I filed my defence on 23rd May 2025 and then received an acknowledgement in writing from the court to say they received it on 27th May.

The acknowledgement letter stated that a copy was being served on the claimant (or the claimant's solicitor) and that the claimant may contact me to resolve the dispute. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, the claimant will inform the court that they wish to proceed. The claimant must contact the court within 28 days after receiving a copy of my defence. After that period has elapsed, the claim will be stayed.

To date, I haven't received any such contact from the claimant.

I don't actually know the specific date that the claimant would have received my defence, but I assume it would have been a few days after the acknowledgement that I had from the court. If this is a correct assumption, then 28 days have passed. Do I need to do anything?

Thanks in advance for any information.

It might be an idea to give the Court a ring to confirm the case has been 'stayed'.

You don't need to do anything at this moment in time, if that is the case.

Thanks. I'll give them a call tomorrow.
