We are a rescue being defamed on Facebook. I am thinking of taking the case to the high Court myself. Is it crazy? Is it possible?

    Hi PERRO

    Welcome to LB

You need to provide a lot more details, what's happened? what's been said? how has it 'defamed' you? etc. 'Defamation' cases are costly and are not to be taken likely. You've no doubt seen the cases in the media, often the huge 'costs' are flagged up. And a lot of it is nonsense.

Too little information to make an informed decision to be honest. As Echat11 says, need to know much more.

You say "we are a rescue". If that is a charity, then you will need to consider carefully what this charity may and may not do. That would require consideration of the charity's constitution documents and charity law.

Defamation cases may only be brought if "serious harm" can be shown. Might it be an idea to try to drown out the noise of the adverse comments with a flood of positive ones? Ask people who have taken on animals from your rescue to post their praise.
