As sure as we can be, when you 'think' about it, distract yourself, listen to music, watch TV, etc.

It seems from recent posters on here that after 3 or 4 of RLP's letters have been ignored they have started getting BPO to send a letter on their behalf. BPO are a powerless debt collector with no more powers than RLP have - which is none. RLP can't take you to court and neither can BPO

Ignore BPO's letter. Other posters report that the next thing is they get a text from BPO asking that you call them urgently. If you get one of those ignore that too.
All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.

As far as I know the last time RLP took anyone to court was 2012. They bought the case on behalf of a retailer as a test case so they could use the judgment as a legal justification to threaten people in your position into paying them money.

When they lost and we published the judgment (see attached) they threatened to sue us and others for publishing it. Of course we refused and like all their hollow threats they never did.

This is why we always advise people that it is highly unlikely they will follow through with threats of legal action - because they know they'll lose.

It was covered by the BBC at the time CAB official accused of harassment by civil recovery firm - BBC News

They have 'no powers', just ask them to leave.
