  • PPI Company issue

PPI Co offering free check online has sent Solicitor’s letter
asking for Bank’s decision re PPI claim
I had not returned or signed any subsequent paperwork after the initial Internet contact.
They are on about taking Court action if they don’t receive the reply from the Bank. I received a cheque for a tiny amount ages ago. No other PPI Co has bothered to contact
I thought as I haven’t signed / returned any paperwork they don’t have a legal agreement

      Hiya

Who is the claims company? Sounds like Quickly Finance T/A Fast Track.

Fast Track's solicitors are sending a lot of these out because banks didn't accept the letters of authority for the claims and chose to deal with the customer directly. Banks are only just telling that to Fast Track now for some reason.

The most expedient way of dealing with it is to send them a copy of the reply you got from the bank at the time (if you don't have it ask the bank for a copy).

If it shows you got some PPI and Fast Track want commission for it tell them that even if you did sign a contract with them (and you didn't), as the bank rejected the LOA in the first place, Fast Track were incapable of providing you with the claims management services that their contracts oblige them to.

If they don't agree make a formal complaint and then take it to the Financial Ombudsman if necessary.
