  • CCJS please help

    Hi

During the pandemic my business has been decimated by COVID and as a result my mental health has been shot to pieces.

As a result, I stupidly ignored a couple of Private Parking fine claims. I also didn't realise there were two as the letters were coming from the same company DCB Legal and now I have two CCJs totalling over £500. One dated end of May and the other other the end of July.

Reading the "Note to Defendant" it appears that I only have a month to ask the court to 'cancel the entry on the register' and so am now concerned about my credit rating.

Shall I just pay both immediately and then write to court explaining my mitigating circumstances (perhaps with a letter from my Doctor?) and hope they remove both CCJs?

Or do I have other options?

Im genuinely well aware of how stupid Ive been and wanted to come on here asking help many time in last 18 months or so but just haven't been able to face it.

So, please, im here with my tail between my legs asking for help.

    Thank you for reading.

If a CCJ is paid within 28 days from the date of the judgement, it will not appear on your credit record.

If paid later the CCJ will remain on your credit record for a period of six years as Satisfied.

Unfortunately, it will not be removed from your credit record for six years.

You can find more information here: https://www.stepchange.org/how-we-help.aspx

There are companies on the web who will offer to remove a CCJ from your record for a fee.

I would advise you not to use them as they have an abysmal success rate. They just want your money.
