  • how to remove CCJ from credit file

    Hello all,

Few years back when i wasn't doing good financially i had few debts and i had arrangements with all of them, some how direct debit got cancelled with one of them, they sent me letter which i didn't open because i was busy with job until i got brown letter which i did open, it was a court letter, i filled that up and setup my direct debit again, all good, but what i didnt realize until very late that that form was my admission and its now registered as CCJ in my credit history and now i cant even rent a house or get a mortgage, last year i already paid the debt in full as employer insisted to satisfied that judgement.
I've spoken to debt management company PRA Group about the removal and they informed me that only court can do that and if i apply to court then they wont object it.

I spoke to a solicitor and he told me that there is only 25% chance of my CCJ removal.

PRA group seems very cooperative and they sent me a confirmation letter as well that all debt has been paid off so that i can present it to my employer.

Do you guys think that i should go ahead and file the application please advise, how much it'll cost and what's the procedure with or without solicitor

    Date of Judgement: Mar 2017
    Satisfied Date: Nov 2019

    many thanks in advance
