Am I right in assuming that the maximum solicitors costs payable to the winning side in a small claims case if the claimant was to lose is £100.00?

Is that understanding correct?

No, you are not.

Couple of points,

1) If the contract between parties allows a party to reclaim costs then that trumps small claims rules

2) If the party behaves unreasonably the Court can make a costs order under CPR 27.14(2)(g)
