  • Witness Statement - URGENT HELP NEEDED!

    Hi all

I have served my Witness Statement on the other party and have realised that I have not referenced or exhibited any of the documents that I have disclosed!* All of the documents are relevant to what I have included within my statement, but I was under the impression, until I saw the other party's statement, that I would refer to the documents within my skeleton arguments...now I believe I should have exhibited them to my statement, or at least referred to them.

My query is, what should I do?* The deadline for service of the statement has now passed.* Should I just add references to / exhibit the documents to the Witness Statement now and send a further copy to the other party, so long as I don't add anything else?...is there any issue with doing this?

Urgent help with this would really be appreciated!

    Thanks

    Hello

This should not be an issue, as long as you disclosed the documents with your statement.

If you are attending court, you will be able to refer to these as they were given as a part of your witness statement. Also, if what you said in the statement was relevant to the documents, it should be clear without the needs to reference explicitly.
