  • Pre Legal Assessment from Lowlife - Vanquis

    Hi All,

My son had a Vanquis card and default almost 6 years ago and has never paid a penny! ( Silly boy and I hope he has learnt his lesson)

The debt was passed to Lowlife and today my son (Who now lives abroad) has received a letter from Lowlife about pre-legal assessment. They had stated that they will be checking his CF to assess his financial situation to decide on what action to take next on his account. The account will be Statute Barred by the end of this year and he does not have any other credit to date, as I scared the sh*t out of him!

Any ideas on how to play this as none of the letters have been acknowledged or responded to?

If he lives abroad then he should inform them of his address as he is out of jurisdiction. If they then decide to press ahead with a CCJ or similar then he can prove he notified them before they took any action.

Ok, thanks for letting me know this. Once he has notified them that he now lives abroad will he have to come to an arrangement to pay? ( This may be a silly question).* I only ask because it will drop off his CF at the end of this year. Should he start by asking for proof etc?
