  • Help please ! Lowell threatens court

n 2018 my son, who lives apart from me,and with his father, received a phone call from 3 (his mobile provider) asking him to upgrade
his mobile phone. He was only 14 and pretended to be me the account holder ( even though I’m female ) and 3 upgraded his phone and gave him a new contract. I was unaware of this until I started to receive letter from 3 saying bill hadn’t been paid. I called 3 and explained the situation they refused to talk to me because son had changed password and I didn’t know it . I didn’t even know the telephone number of accounts. My son will not speak to me as his dad will not let him. ( another issue completely). I eventually got a default from 3 on my previously perfect credit rating and referred to Ombudsman. Still refused to talk to me due to password issue. Now the debt has been sold to Lowell who have added a default and threatening court action . The debt is £691 do I have any options other than to pay ? It’s extremely stressful- any advice please
