Hello all,
I'm new to the forum but hoping someone can help with a question regarding a CCJ cancellation.
A CCJ was awarded against me on 26th September by TLT Solicitors acting on behalf of nationwide. The judgement debt was for £5,627.63, but it also says plus costs of £510. However, it then goes on to say I must pay the claimant a total of £5429.88 - I have attached this part of the judgement letter so you can see what I mean.
TLT subsequently advised me that the amount owing was £5428.36. Thanks to the phenomenal effort of my family, this amount was paid to TLT today and they have confirmed it as received today (yay!) and my account balance is nil. However, they then told me that they would advise the court the debt had been satisfied. I challenged them to say the judgement debt had been paid within a calendar month and should therefore be cancelled. The call handler went away to say they would need to speak to nationwide and will call me back tomorrow afternoon as they would be unable to confirm this without speaking to them first.
However, having thought about this further, I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on what is the amount I need to ensure is paid in order to ensure it is cancelled as I don't want to be told tomorrow that I should have paid the additional costs of £510 (And the difference between £5428.36 and £5627.63) in order for it to be cancelled instead of marked as satisfied. They did say that Nationwide were covering the legal costs, if this is of assistance in getting an opinion? As my family worked so hard to help this be paid to cancel the judgement, I don't want to let them down and find I can't get it cancelled because I haven't paid enough?
Thank you for any advice on this
