  • summons from the GMC

I was a victim of sexual abuse by a surgeon 8 years ago. The GMC took up the case; I gave evidence. He
was sanctioned but not struck off

    .
    Another doctor who
    was involved
( and has continued to work full time) is being investigated by the GMC and is on trial/hearing soon.

I was told I was to give evidence by a legal secretary on the telephone. I explained to the young women that the last hearing was 4 years ago and
I was recovering I didn't want to. I explained I was not mentally well enough to revisit the whole thing.
I had lost all my hair with stress and it began to grow back last year. I am worried it will happen again. She was not interested and said I had to give evidence. No one else rang me.
Without warning or even a letter the GMC had a served summons on me at my house. I am being threatened with prison.
Is there anything I can do?
