  • Subject Access Requests / GDPR / Data Protection - how to request your info.

    There is a standard letter template here -> Subject Access Request Letter

    However most lenders/banks have direct contact info on their websites now - normally within their ' Privacy Policy' pages, and it's easier and quicker to submit your requests through their system than sending a letter - you should always keep a record of the dates and exactly what you sent them ( Screenshots are a good idea ).

    Best way is to go to the lenders website, go down to the bottom of the page and there is normally a link to Privacy Policy - have a quick scroll through for something ' How to get a copy of your data?' or ' Your rights' etc and the info is usually thereabouts.

    SO for example;

    Lloyds Bank
    11. How to get a copy of your personal information

    This section tells you where to write to us to get a copy of your personal information, and how to ask for a digital file you can use yourself or share easily with others. You can do this online or by writing to us.

    You can get a copy of all the personal information we hold about you by filling in this form or by writing to us at this address:

    DSAR

    When you want to share your data with outside companies

    You also have the right to get certain personal information from us as a digital file, so you can keep and use it yourself, and give it to other organisations if you choose to.

    If you wish, we will provide it to you in an electronic format that can be easily re-used, or you can ask us to pass it on to other organisations for you. If you want to do this you can visit one of our branches, or call us on 0345 602 1997 (+44 1733 347 007 from outside the UK). Calls may be monitored or recorded.

    If you have a hearing or speech impairment you can also call us using the Next Generation Text (NGT) service. Simply dial 18001 and then the telephone number.
