Acceptable repayment

Hi
just wondered if anyone could advise please?
My husband owes a debt of £2500 & we have been paying £150 per week off this through a CCj agreed plan. We missed one payment as husband is self employed & had no work ! The solicitors ate now threatening a warrant of control if he doesn’t agree a suitable repayment !
in hindsight the £150 we were paying was too much can we offer a lower amount per week or do you think this will make them apply ?

The payment you make has to be affordable and sustainable for you and if Self Employed should take account of the lean times that crop up. Is the agreement you have ordered by the Court or just an agreement with the Claimant? Do you know how much you have so far and how much is still outstanding. It may pay to submit an application for a Variation Order where you could have an agreement endorsed by the Court, it costs £50 and you need Form N245 to apply.The other side will probably object but providing your I&E backs everything up then you could end up paying a lot less.

Would you care to say how the CCJ arose?
