Can a friend take me to court over a cancelled holiday?

Both flights were booked by me and with his name on his ticket. He paid me for what he owed for his ticket. I no longer want to travel with him due to a dispute. I will be travelling but I’m refusing to travel with him. Said friend has his plane ticket, I am not stopping him from going on holiday. It’s perfectly fine with me if he’s on the plane we just will not be travelling together. For some reason he still wants to travel with me otherwise he’s demanding I pay him his flight money back.
Can he take me to court for his share of the flight money?

Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
