  • Litigant in person bill of cost

    Hi,

Could someone please provide a template from which a Litigant in person can claim costs please.

Any advice on this subject would also be appreciated. Thanks

I can only share my experience which is as another unqualified litigant in person, but the attached document is what I added to my hearing bundle to claim litigant in person costs.

The context of this claim was a small claims track claim in which the Defendant was found to have behaved unreasonably and so liable to further costs under CPR 27.14. As it was a small claim I figured I just needed to set out the facts of my costs with some degree of clarity and accuracy. If your claim is different maybe your mileage will vary.

While the claim was for £94.50, the judge only awarded me £60 without giving a reason - making no comment either way about the way I had claimed the costs.
