about a month ago i did something really stupid and got caught for it, i shoplifted some stuff from primark and as i was leaving i was stopped by security and was taken to a room and asked questions and then they took every possible ID i had with me, along with my national insurance number, BRP. I received a letter from RLP stating i have a pay a fine of 150 pounds. I want to know what happens if i dont pay the fine? as i am an international student and will be leaving the UK next month and i dont have that much of money to pay the fine, will they track me back to my country? Do you think it will be recorded somewhere and would lead to a criminal record? What if i apply for a UK visa again in a few years do you think this incident will come up and affect me in any sense?

Re: RLP claim
Search the forum for RLP. THe advice is to ignore, they can do nothing at all except use up a lot of red ink.
Only the courts can Fine you. RLP, as a private company, cannot possibly issue you with a fine. Expect a sting of these letters, but then if you are leaving the country they will be stuck. They have no authority to do anything.

Re: RLP claim
hello,
thank you for the advice, so you suggest i should ignore it and leave, but they have my brp number and even national insurance, what if they track me back to my country and what if i end up having a restraining order to come back to the UK or to get a job here? if there be any record that can be searched by the employer as a part of background check?

If you moved from one street to the next one along they couldn't track you, let alone to another country. Don't worry about it.COMPLETING AN N180 DIRECTIONS QUESTIONNAIRE (SMALL CLAIMS TRACK) GUIDE
