hello, i too was caught shoplifting. it was my first time and i deeply regret it and have learnt my lesson and will never do it again!
i had £30 worth of products. i was caught by a security guard and the items were given back. only one of them were in non saleable condition. the police were called and they said no further action would be taken. and the manager also wanted no further action taken apart from a lifetime ban. but the security guard still went through with RLP.

i was sent a letter by rlp asking me to pay £159. i ignored it. and now i got another letter from RLP asking for it again and said to reply within 14 days or further action may be taken. what do i do? im 18 and a student so i cant really afford a fine this hefty. do i just reply and cough up the money or can these letters be safely ignored? im really worried they will take me to court and put me in prison. someone please help asap since im very scared and do not know what to do. thanks

rlp cannot fine you or take you to court - that would have to be done by Superdrug themselves (and they've basically washed their hands of you already). Ignore xx

are you 100% sure it is okay to ignore and they will leave me alone? i dont want to get into even more trouble :/

Yes you ignore them. You will get more letters but just file them away. The last time RLP tried court they got thoroughly spanked by the judge and haven't tried again since. Try searching for "RLP Oxford"

One thing I have learned in my time as a Beagle, if [MENTION=49370]Kati[/MENTION] AND [MENTION=39331]ostell[/MENTION] say it's ok.. it's ok!

You are in safe hands, file it under S for Shred (or screw it, depending on your mood) and don't worry about it.

[MENTION=105048]rlp[/MENTION] just a note, I've edited the letter you posted as you left all your details on it, they were blurry but just about readable ... please be careful what you post - I just open pictures in paint or a photo edit programme and scribble over the identifying details xxx

I have recieved the fourth letter and bayliffs have come round my house, luckily i wasnt home and my foster mum told them i dont live here anymore. What do i do?! Do i still ignore or just try And scrape the money together as im now getting very scared and worried. please help!!

They weren't bailiffs or court enforcement officers, but simply debt collectors
They have no more power or authority than RLP'
If they call again, tell them to leave. If they refuse or argue, call the police in their hearing "to prevent a breach of the peace".

Indeed they won't have been from RLP, or if they were they won't have been bailiffs. Did they leave anything with your foster mum to say what their business with you was? Or the company name they were from?
