      Re: Shoftlifting at Boots

hi is me again - well just picked up my letter from my friends house - glad it went there and I can view it before I depart.

It says a variety of things but in essence :
"Although the costs Boots are entitled to recover are considerable, Boots seeks only a contribution towards those losses from you by way of a fixed amount of £263.48, a figure which Boots considers is proportionate, but sufficient to act as a deterrent to future incidents. Provided Boots does not seek to recover in excess of its losses, such losses are recoverable in law."
It then offers the options to settle as expected but on the back of page one giving you the options is even says if you pay with a debit card it costs you 50 pence or 2% on credit card.

The date given on the letter was the only when the police came and does not give reference to other date?

      Thoughts please

That seems to be the best way looking at other posts on here. Staying strong is not easy as RLP are masters when it comes to frightening the bejesus out of people but it seems that is all they can do. Px

1/ Pierce hole in top left-hand corner.
2/ Insert small loop of string.
3/ Hang up in outside dunny (for emergency use)

They (AFAIK) get to benefit from less stock being taken ... while paying a company wages (and allowing the company(?) to charge people for it) :noidea:

                          A wild guess......

.....maybe the shops need to show they are proactive re losses due to shoplifting for insurance purposes?

Actually that sounds like a reasonable assumption - do boots ever get any of the money or do RLP keep it all? any ideas?

doubt the likes of RLP would pay Boots a commission
