  • Betting website stole winnings

Hi all, a quick search on Google brought me to this forum. I am not sure if it the correct place to post my problem so sorry if I am in the wrong place.

I am hoping someone here can guide me on what to do next. As the thread title states, I have been playing on a betting website (skyB1ngo) and they have stole my winnings. Me and my partner both have an account with Sky and have been active Bingo players for around two months. The problem here is we live at the same address and share a computer which raised alarms when either of us tried to withdraw our winnings - we would find both our accounts suspended. We were requested to send in photo ID and bank statments / household bills to prove we are two individual people living at the same address, Sky security team were happy to reinstate both accounts. This happened on several occasions but today they have suspended both accounts again and will not reinstate them. The security team member I spoke to on the phone this morning said his decision is final.

Now the bigger problem here is I have winnings in my account which I had tried to withdraw when the account got suspended again today. He will not release these fund as he said he is not convinced that we are using our own account and not logging in to each others to play. To me this is a very poor excuse, we live at the same address and share a computer so of course we are going to be logging in and out of our account so the other can log in and play. There have also been many times when we are both online together, one on the tablet and the other on the laptop. There a lot of skyB1ngo players sharing a computer and even some have wrote in the chat box 'Hi it's me on partners account' so the decision to close both our accounts seems rather unfair. I will spend my money elsewhere after this but wondering what I can do about my winnings, surely it is theft of money owed to me?

Also what games were you playing? If it was Poker, for example, did you and your partner regularly play at the same table as each other?

Sorry just seen your other reply. We only played the Bingo games, I'm not sure you are familiar with the website but there are around 20 different rooms. We would schedule our tickets on the laptop so they would play even when we aren't logged in.

We did play in some of the same rooms. Its very difficult to play on the tablet/mobile device so after scheduling the tickets on the laptop, one of us would just watch the games play on the tablet while the other was playing on the laptop. There were many occasions we were logged in at the same time, one on tablet and other on laptop yet his reason for closing the accounts is that he isn't convinced we aren't playing on each others account and that one of us isn't controlling both accounts. He was rather rude to me on the phone this morning 'so you are both sitting with each other at the same time'. I was very calm and polite with my replies but it didn't get me anywhere. But yes of course we are sitting together, we are living in the same house together.

But still enforceable in UK since Sept 2007 (http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/ihtmanual/ihtm28130.htm)

An easier option may involve the initial deposit/s in terms of not receiving what you paid for..........a complaint unsuccessfully dealt with referred to the Visa or MasterCard resolutions teams.

I have emailed my complaint to http://www.gamblingcontrol.org/ I am not quite sure what they can do about the winnings Sky have held. My friend has been playing in the bingo room that I had scheduled tickets for all this week and seen my name win a couple of times tonight, now where are these winnings going if my account is permanently closed. This makes it unfair for the other players too. All my pre bought tickets should have been cancelled when they decided my account will be closed for good.

Does this mean that they have no right to keep my winnings?

Have you followed their complaints procedure?https://support.skybet.com/app/answe...ints-procedure
If not the authorities might feel you have jumped the gun somewhat.
