5 weeks ago I wa dismissed forfraudulently obtaining items. I was told that the outstanding amount would be requested through civil recovery. No police were involved at the time, just suspension and then dissmisal. I have not heard anything, what happens now?

Re: what happens now?
Aren't they polite "outstanding amount would be REQUESTED through civil recovery"
Current advice for dealing with DEMANDS from civil recovery firms is mainly "firmly ignore", but as Kati says more details about circumstances and amounts would be helpful.
Do you know which civil recovery lowlife your ex employers normally use?

Re: what happens now?
You worked for the company??
Do you have a copy of their dismissal policy??
Have you actually heard anything from a DCA yet??
Do you know which company your ex employer uses??Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

Re: what happens now?
Sorry ... My fault
A DCA is a Debt Collection Agency ... Kind of like bailiffs, but with less power
do you have a copy of your contract and possibly your ex employers dismissal and grievance policies??

I'm not sure where your employer comes in to it, do you work for the company that sells the products or ordered products on the company account ?#staysafestayhome

Re: what happens now?
I worked for the company that sold the items, I am not wanting information around the dissmisal, I would like to know how long can I expect to wait, are there timescales I have not heard from them at all. I have my p45, I am waiting for the next step whatever that is

Re: what happens now?
The answer to your query is that the time limits to make a civil claim are basically set out in the Limitations Act 1980.
There are various limits for various claims, but 6 years would seem to cover your case.
It is up to them to decide when to approach you, but I would expect it in the next few weeks
Initial approach will probably be a demand for repayment of their losses (£1000?) plus an exorbitant amount for the costs.
