    .
The phone is out of warranty Labman hun, the charge is correct unfortunatly, and I know that in the UK customers are told it is a 12 month warranty only.

Wether the OP can claim this back from Apple is another matter and I am pretty certain would be goodwill only.

IF Canadian consumer law is compatible, the phone was not purchased in the UK.

Personally I would say it isn't, also it would depend on the length of time the OP has had the phone in total, what apple found on the iphone (did an Ap cause the problem etc) I know that the company I work for do not take responsibilty for a handset taken out of the UK at all.
We cannot gaurentee the handset will work or you will have a service, perhaps thats the same with Apple.

I don't work for Apple btw, I'm not smart enough for that one!!

I am checking as we speak to my brother in Ontario and he is going to see if he can find out!

I almost don't give two hoots what Apple say (though you've done brilliantly Puff!:tinysmile_kiss_t4

I care that an iPhone should be fit for purpose for a period of x years. There is a list somewhere of how long one should last. If the phone has not lasted that long, and both Canada and the UK recognise that this issue would be covered in their own country, then the consumer law should be recognised. Charity's post earlier seemed to make this very clear. The manufacturer's warranty is irrelevant IMO. :beagle:

                  Re: Apple iPhone issue

the only thing I could not find, and hold my hands up to this one I just couldnt find it, does the EU consumer law cover a product bought in Canada?

My thinking, well no because if that was the case what is to stop someone buying a ~*thinks* hair dryer in USA and claiming on it not working in the UK a year later?

I fail to see what is unclear about the above. It states the phone is covered.

Apple claims on it's website to uphold all national/international laws on SOG (see Lab post above)

The 'Canada' bit complicated the issue, but as Apple had put the info on their website, it became a term in the contract.
