Look on it as fan-mail, Mil. You may be an irascible bugga, but you are well appreciated (....well....that will account for two of the PM's, I guess, anyway !!!) Just ignore the other 30 which are full of verbal abuse for disappearing without a 'by your leave' !!! Welcome back, mate.

If the worst comes to it, I believe there is a Criminal Damage/Injuries Compensation Fund you might be able to fall back on as a last resort.

I'm not saying all drivers are bad drivers but I here it all the time 'sorry mate I didn't see you' if they bothered looking for that extra half a second longer they would have seen the guy/girl approaching or in front of them. "Sorry about the rant peeps"

Hope you have a speedy recovery Miliitant
Hear, hear, Swifty. I appreciate in Mil's case, a bike is perhaps more of a necessity than a choice - but I do miss the thrill of a bike myself, and I therefore envy - but do not begrudge - the enjoyment that bikers get. I'll let the buggas pass me ASAP and continue on their way. The use of headlights 24/7 on bikes is a good thing, as it catches our eyes in the mirror. However, when a biker is stopped at lights with both feet on the ground - the only rear light he has is his 6 Watt tail-light. In these days of ultra-brite flashing LED's - surely we should be allowing - and enforcing - something that attracts the eye to a stationary biker from behind.

But I don't frequent biker forums, so I don't know if this is a discussion already brewing...

All is not lost - you can still claim against the idiot. Have a look at the Motor Insurers Bureau website:- http://www.mib.org.uk/Company+Inform...en/Default.htm
There will be any amount of solicitors willing to take on your case - if it were me I'd select one with experience of MIB claims, ie not your ten-a-penny no-win no-fee merchant.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I only have a moped and had the same thing happen, luckily I was not hurt and the bloke that did it had the usual excuse of "I didnt see you" (dayglow jacket)!
        Now moped wrapped up!

Re: millitant is back on line after a bad accident

We wondered if anything had happened, Miliitant. You're on some pretty heavy-duty painkillers, especially dihydrocodiene. It is usually disqualified drivers who are involved in RTCs like the one you were in. At least the magistrates had the sense to remand the driver into custody so he cannot do this again. He must have been going at some speed to knock you 20 feet along the road. You have been very lucky. Take your time getting back into the swing of things and don't let the muppets at ATOS or the DWP try and kid you are fit for work.

I haven't removed my riot helmet since Puff made the threat, so watch out, Miliitant. Lol!

Sorry to hear about your accident Miliitant. I have lost two friends due to motor bike accidents. I also witnessed as a child a motor bike accident where the rider was decapitated ! I call bikes 'a coffin on wheels'.

                    Take care x

Re: millitant is back on line after a bad accident

                        Hi

I'm sorry to hear that you were involved in an accident. Springer Spaniel had told me about this because I was trying to contact you. I wish you a speedy recovery. With regards to medication, I was taking Tramadol for sciatica a couple of months ago, and it made me sick. So my GP prescribed some anti-sickness tablets which I was taking in conjunction with the Tramodol.

                        Many best wishes.

                        Regards
