Re: holiday in the USA questions

well my car hire is all paid for, it is with ALAMO.

i booked in the uk and the rental has been debited from my account.
the cost for 10 days car hire was £159.00, which is not bad for 10 days.

the only extra that i have to pay for when i collect the vehicle is about 40 dollars pre pay for a full tank of fuel so i do not have to return it full.

strange that, makes you wonder how low to run the tank without running out prior to returning the vehicle

been and done the LA tour, Bell Air ,Beverly Hills, Mulholland Dive, Hollywood Bulevard, sunset strip etc, but the best by far is Universal Studios
universal studios , what can i say
They have the Terminator 2 experience in 3D, but it is more like 4D
They have live actors within the show complete with smells, seats move etc, truly amazing

the main studio tour is FAB as well, bates motel, full size jumbo jet from the tom cruise war of the world, they also have the largets 3D screens in the world, 100 feet long and 40 feet high, that was for the 3D king kong experience with T=REX ETC, we went then into the subway set and experienced an earthquake, complete with a full size petrol tanker falling through the roof

i am off to vegas via a 5 hour drive in the mornng, it is 21.35 here in los angeles

san francisco was great, warm but a nice sea breeze

                    hollywood is hot,hot,hot

at universal studios they have these fans that spray out a freezing mist to keep you cool all over the park, its very nice to stand under and chill.

i made the mistake on my first day in hollywood of not wearing a hat, my forehead got very sore, also, even wearing shorts my calfs got very sore as well due to the sun. a hat and sun glasses is a must.
its only seven in the morning at the moment and the temperture is allready 73 degrees F

after a five hour drive from los angeles, i made it to las vegas. driving these big american cars just eat up the milage and it has been a total pleasure so far.

i have the grand canyon (the rim) hoover dam and the area 51 tour allready booked.

it realy has been great doing all my research and booking on line before i left to get the best deals. listening to other peoples views through booking.com was well worth it

ill update later in the week as i have a busy schedule ahead

                          take care all

It certainly sounds like your having an incredible time, don't forget if you do the ride at the top of the Stratosphere, take a change of pants with you

not only the stratosphere , but new york, new york also has one hell of a roller coaster on the strip

its an early night for me as of 645 am , i am doing the area 51 tour which lasts about 10-12 hours

                                http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct...2EsngIa-JMs0og

looks like i will get a glimpse of the original men in black

                                on a side note

i am on my laptop in my hotel room. the wi-fi is free and i cannot fault it.
in the usa, they use the 4 G SERVICE, where we are still stuck in the dark ages with 3 G
I have phoned a few people back in the uk using skype on my laptop, and a skype phone. they said they never knew i was calling from nevada, the call quielty was that good. something to consider for future trips to the usa. i also purchased a pay as you go phone on the 4G service with credit, all for 40 dollars. that was so i can call AAA if needed

the time is 2100 here in vegas
