A few months ago I took a bus and discovered a zip had broken on my hold bag - and I was missing a small bag of dirty laundry.
I called Megabus the next morning and they contacted lost and found. It was never recovered.
I have today discovered that optional insurance was somehow included on the price of my ticket - including for luggage.
However, I had no idea. This was not mentioned in my calls to Megabus, and as I did not know about this the day after my items went missing ,when I first contacted them, I cannot now claim as I had ot report to the police within 24 hours.
I was not sent any policy documents or a policy number for this optional insurance, in fact the only reference to it is one line on my booking confirmation, and no info how to make a claim, etc.
My question therefore is are Megabus liable here for not checking this when I called them and notifying me?
