So me(13) and my ex bestmate(15) went into the co-op and took a big box of individual chocolate bars. After a month my mum got a call from the police they said I need to go in for a statement. But can I get a criminal record for this?

Hi and welcome.
You must be one of our youngest members
You could get a criminal record for this , but IMO most unlikely.
Probably just a warning.
HOWEVER, do not go unaccompanied.
If you ever are requested by the police to go for an interview, make sure you have a solicitor.
There is a system to allow you a solicitor free of charge.
Tell your mum to ask the police to arrange for the duty solicitor to be there.
You and she may also like to look at this website: http://www.childrenslawcentre.org.uk/ where there is a freephone for advice.
good luck
