  • Rival company claiming they've done a job that my company undertook

    Hello All,

As a company we undertook a run of work (in the events business) which lasted 4 months in 2018. In the previous year in 2017 the same contract was worked by ourselves and another company who did a small part of the job.

Although the event was the same, each year a new limited company is created for the event, so in 2017 we worked for "Event A 2017 ltd" and in 2018 it was "Event A 2018 ltd" etc.

My issue is that the rival company is now claiming in an article that they worked on the 2018 event, which they did not. The item that they produced in 2017 was used in 2018 although they had nothing to do with the event or its installation.

Is it a lawful for the rival company to claim they had involvement in the 2018 event?

    Many thanks

The work they produced for the 2017 event was used in the 2018 event and they, basically, are over egging the pudding ?
