Re: Quick question
https://www.gov.uk/how-tax-credits-a...other-benefits
If you get tax credits, you may get less:- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Pension Credit
Contact the office that pays your benefits to work out how tax credits affect your benefits.Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.
It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...

Re: Quick question
Hi Katy, as usual anything to do with the government is somewhat vague, it says that- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
could be affected, but the problem my son is up against is that HMRC is claiming he was overpaid WTC because their records showed that he was in receipt of income based JSA, however as far as I can make out IB JSA is not classed as income for WTC purposes.
My son didnt get IB JSA, he got contribution based JSA, and as contribution based is classed as taxable income HMRC included this CB JSA income in their calculation /award notice
I'm going to post the letter Ive drafted in the VIP forum for any further comments.
