Any advice would be very much appreciated - this has been an ongoing battle with the DWP for over a year when the DWP had a direct earnings attachment made on my salary for a debt of a Jobseeker's Allowance overpayment from 2000-2002 totalling £6578 for which I immediately queried as I new nothing about any overpayment from 15 years ago and this came out of the blue with no previous communication.
i sent numerous letters requesting info on this alleged overpayment and eventually sent a SAR which I got back along with another letter dated the day before the SAR was sent out CEASING the direct earning attachment asking me to contact the DWP as my circumstances have changed and I had to contact them by telephone immediately, but still requesting repayment. The SAR was very informative mostly about my numerous correspondence to them with only one page with an entry which reads:
........JSA(IB) OP 516305 01/09/00-31/01/02 6,578:80 FWD ptnr working.
Diary texts on the SAR for me shows inputs from the DWP - we hold no qb99 for this customer also on the diary text from DWP it states we do not have a breakdown of the I/pmt, but basically it breaks down to £88.90pw (couple rate?) this has not been put in the letter to the customer as I cannot verify it.
please can anyone give me advice on what next to do as I am at my wits end?
