I am attending mediation for a dispute with a friend, does that still have to be declared to job centre, if it is over 20 thousand for example, does he still need to tell them, I am not sure if only applies for personal injury which this is not, it is wrong doing some solicitors did on a friend - missed deadlines etc - would it be wise, if he did get it to come off JSA?

Re: possible income
My understanding is that Contribution based JSA is not means tested, but Income based JSA is.
If on the latter you must declare any capital, and this would include awards or compensation.
If he is successful he can continue claiming but probably won't qualify for payment of JSAib, (but could get JSAc
if he qualifies)
