  • have sent jobseekers a statement of means as they want me to repay all my jobseekers

have sent jobseekers a statement of means as they want me to repay all my jobseekers. I made a big mistake and
for a few weeks my wife did about 6 extra hours and didn't tell the dwp till about 4 weeks after she only earns £7.07 as
a care assistant know they are hounding me to pay back £1526 all of it basically. I owe £2000 to Brit gas + electricity Anglian water £1000+ Nationwide £158 Talktalk £400 have been told by my MP not to pay anything as it is quite obvious I can't afford to pay it and I don't see why I should
pay it all back I have had to take a job in security which pays less so your help would be much appreciated what would likely happen
if they took it to court. I sent them one statement of means but they didn't like the way I put the figures down I just pust down the total figures
I also let them know my earnings we are left with barely enough to live on.

I would go to one of the professional FREE debt organisations with this, such as CAB, CCCS, Payplan etc... They will be able to guide you as to your next move.

Your MP may be able to help with this as DWP is a government department

may i ask why they are demanding a refund of £1536

i believe unemployment benefit, job seekers, whatever they want to call it is only about £50 a week

so where did they get the figure of £1536 from

all you shold be paying back is a percentage of the few weeks benefit you received to offset the extra your wife earned in her wages

yes that is exactly my point i wouldn't mind that but this ammount seems very harsh thanks for your reply we ask them a question about that they just don't
answer it when i ask them that. I think there using me to pay there deficit.

yes I have done that but not got a response I know my MP has sent them a letter I have also done as the essex chief said and
appealed to the dwp cheif exec that was over a month ago and no reply from that. wouldn't mind when I was first made unemployed in 2009 and won the tribunal they made me pay back £1475 then it should have been my old company that paid that as well then to have this happen after that it has me made have to see a depression counsellor and my wife as well

yes I have also done a statement of means and they wrote back because they didn't like total figures so quite rudely
bearing in mind i only recieved this Wednesday they have given me till the 23rd to send a reply
I sent a letter as the essex chief said to the main chief Terry Morran but it has been at least least 4 weeks actually the letter was dated
12/9/12 just checked and still no reply so I get a few days to reply and they can take as long as they want. As you may be able to tell
I am little peed off just sent a request for why I have to pay it all back to the new gov.uk website actually thought it worked well found
an email for benefits and I haven't been able to find that before.
help and advice is much apprecciated

if an amount of money is demanded from you then they have to give a break down of the bill, how it was worked out and why

you need to be demanding how the figure was reached, you need a paper trail for your own proytection

i am talking email, recorded delivery etc
