I have received my letter telling me I'm in the work related cateogery I need to appeal the decision there is no way I am mentally well enough to work it says on my letter that I can ring and ask for the decision to be looked at again I'm wondering if I do that if at that point they will let me send in supporting letters from my cpn and or psychologist

    Any advice desperately needed

Do you have a copy of the report the DWP are relying on to justify placing you in the Work-Related Activities Group (WRAG)? This will help determine whether the DWP are correct or need a good hard kick up the backside. It will also tell you if ATOS are up to their usual tricks. How many days have you been given in which to appeal? It should be one month.

There is no explanation in with it I can only assume they have gone from the questionnaire they sent me which is not at all designed for people with mental health and I remember when I filled it out I was not in a good place mentally and am still not this has just added extra pressure to me if I get them to send me the decision then I'm likely to miss the deadline to appeal surely if my cpn intervenes and explains that work would cause an extreme detriment to my mental health they would need to move me to the support group?

Get in touch with DWP immediately and ask them for a copy of the report ATOS compiled and which they have based their decision upon. They will tell you this will take 10 days. Once you have spoken to DWP, contact your CPN and let them know what has happened. I'm going to send you a PM. Check your inbox in five minutes.
