    Re: state pension question

If he contracts out for a long period--you would expect it as the additional pension is meant to increase the basic pension for those that dont have occupational pension--but ih he has occupational one--then state is less (I think DT)

          That worked!
So Mr T seems to be right then, still seems strange as I did mostly part time hours!

Letter today from HM revenue and customs which confirms his COD . Now if I have this right they do not tax state pension but tax his NHS pension so I think he is still worse off, will know better when he gets his proper tax code.

              Re: state pension question

Dogtired--been researching a bit re Additional State Pension (& PM with Enaid too)--seems the last few lines of your attachment 1 will increase by 3.1%--but easier if you can post the 2012 letter for you--as Mr DT's in attachment 2

Re tax---thats not an issue DT--it wont get taxed but his code on his other pension will reflect it and effectively take the correct amount of tax

Then I anticipate that Mr DT will have a lesser pension cos he was part contracted out--ie--his Additional Pension will be less than yours

Will explain (to the best of my ability) later tonight (using the links from ValerieJ43)---but I am sure that there will be no mistakes DT
