  • Bedroom tax

I read a lot of news items but this news is new to me,
Do you know that from April next year people on housing benefit will be subject to a bed room tax based on the number of bedrooms in your house and the number of people housed have read some info but as this can have a financial impact on those on benefits who are in debt
Im sureothers on this forum can offer advice i feel this is just another attack on the poorest most vulnerable in society trange how bankers take big payouts after beinng given billions of taxpayers money then the peasants have to pay.

        Re: Bedroom tax

At first glance and from info i have found i see no exemptions for disabled who have partners who are their carers and who need another bedroom its not alwas possible to share one room i understood this government was looking at ways to improve the carer system which saves them paying out billions in care another step towards the return to workhouses I see that there rich lanlord buddies will still get all the rent just the poor paying.

I heard about this earlier in the year, and rang my housing association to find out if it affects pensioners, but apparently it doesnt
Since this government came to power, its a wonder we are not charged a breathing tax
It is disgusting, they dont take account of things like if people lose some benefits they will also lose others
People who lose disabilty benefits will also lose council tax benefits,

Cameron was entitled to disability allowance and carers allowance for his late disabled son, so he should realise how hard it is for poorer people

The new rules only affect working age people. If you, or your partner, have reached the qualifying age for Pension Credit you will not be affected by the rule changes. More information is available on changes to the qualifying age for Pension Credit.
