  • council housing application help please?

I dont know what forum to use here so hope this is ok..

Long story short, applications for housing/benifits have been riddled with errors, loss of info, false accusations of fraud(dropped), and general unhelpfull people in the offices.

The latest issue was we are to be allowed to 'bid' for a priority list of properties due to partners disability, yet when trying to access the system we couldnt. On investigation is appears that YET AGAIN we need to provide more info, my previouse addresses (which they had when i went in the office), and the council need proof my partner does not own a previouse marital home.

Now this property was vacated/sold at least 4 years ago, my partner has no proof, and is not in contact with her ex. The council refused to check there land registry, which to me is just being awkward! they claim its up to us to prove she does not own that property.

Any advice on paper rockets up the councils behinds to get this sorted would be appreciated!!

    Thanks, Tommy.

It is not possible to prove a negative. It is only possible for the current owners of that property to prove they do own it. Perhaps you could ask the council how she can possibly prove that she doesn't own something.

Typical little hitler Town Hall nobodies.
