  • Pension & benefits

    Hi all

I have just discovered that i have a pension with a value of approx £35k

my wife is severely disabled, mentally and physically, and we receive income related ESA, housing benefit, c tax relief and PIP/ carers allowance

I want to withdraw £15-£20K FROM MY POT INITIALLY TO CLEAR OUR AND OUR SONS DEBTS APP £4K, treat ourselves to new ipad, laptop etc

obviously tax man will have his chunk but how would this impact our benefits?

i envisage spending at least 10k so would be left with around 3-7k left after tax

would dwp accept these spends or would they claim deprivation?

my wife gets so stressed over old bills so it would help her condition if we could clear

    TIA
