    Evening People,

Clearing up some more stuff i have found an old Nationwide credit card Statement and this one states that i have paid a Payment Protection Insurance Premium

one was for 14.85 on 18/07/2005
    and 10.58 on 16/02/2005

What i am asking is, am i able to claim now 10 years later ?

    Kind Regards

    Re: Nationwide Credit Card PPI

Update - Just had a 3 page letter back from Nationwide with them using my OWN information against me?
I think they are just fobbing off.

They also reckon they actually have the leaflet for credit card with me actually ticking the PPI box.

    Is this typical of them,

I'll scan pages and post up on here for further examination by an expert.

I said I had £10k in savings and didn't need a credit card with PPI, they said that I would have had no access to this savings... actually it was a normal bank account and I could withdraw when ever I wanted.

At the time I was also working for a small family company and was entitled to 12 months sick pay ( as I would have been able to work from home etc ) and they say, nah we don't think so !

    Being fobbed off aren't I ??

            Re: Nationwide Credit Card PPI

            Hi,

Please see attached the 3 page letter from Nationwide using my own info against me.

Now to reiterate - I ( like my father ) will never ever purchase any further insurance, I certainly have NOT purchased this PPI.

I really hope its just a fob off letter from them and I can win back what is quite rightly something I should never have spent.

                      Re: Nationwide Credit Card PPI

Do you have anything from that employer confirming the sick pay arrangements? Knowing they would have let you work from home doesn't really matter as that could have been impossible if you had been in hospital or extremely sick.

If you don't, i would just write back and ask them to reconsider. State that you are sure you never ticked the PPI box. Say that the combination of long, secure employment with good sick pay, the fact that you had significant savings and the fact that your wife had a good job mean that you clearly had no need of the PPI insurance.

                        Re: Nationwide Credit Card PPI

It was a family run company and i was there for 14 years.
The company is no longer the same now and has been sold on years ago.

I shall write back to them,, and ill try and see if i can contact old boss and if he can find anything or write anything for me,
I last saw him 2 yrs ago and we are still on very good terms.

OK, not heard anything from nationwide since i wrote back to them . I have written to them again, demanding a response in 2 weeks and letter is recorded/registred.

If they do not get in touch with me after 2 weeks, ( or 56 days ) which ever is the requirement, what are my next steps.

                          Thanks

Take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman, see http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/PPI.html. Note the 8 week deadline - if in doubt call the FinOmb helpline and ask how much longer you have to give Nationwide to reply.

                              Hello All,

Update, I have had a letter back from Nationwide and they are sticking to their Original decision ( using my own info against me ) and with no explanation.

I have asked them to prove i have actually signed a PPI option, well they have provided nothing.

What are my next steps ?
