Hsbc life and critical insurance claim

In need of your help

in 2006 we took on a mortgage for over a million pounds for a residential/ business venture.
The only bank that would give us the mortgage were hsbc.

Towards completion of the above we had a visit from head office regarding life and cruciical insurance and between the 4 owners came to somewhere in the region of £550 per month.
we were told via phone that we would have to take this out in order to proceed with the mortgage.

we are sorting out policy numbers etc now as I'm writing this.

question is which template letter should we send to the bank and how much information should we share in the letter.

is it likely that we will be successful or not

Not sure how to intuperet there actions yet

we where held over a barrel we found cheaper insurance but was told it had to be with hsbc in order for the business mortgage and loan to continue

Do you have the Terms & Conditions of the loan?
A careful check to see if this " must have" insurance is written in is needed.
