  • Do i have PPI?

    Hi legal beagles

this is going to sound a bit dim, but bear with me.

I'm doing some long needed house tidying. I've come across paperwork for an old secured loan. reading through it, i have come across this sentence in the comments box

'£loan amount' - repayment of personal finance, net of insurance premium refunds.

now what on earth that does mean? i have thoroughly checked the pages of the application and there is not a box anywhere on the form to indicate a choice as to PPI.

what an odd comment for the loan provider to make.

i can confirm that i have never had a PPI refund from this provider - I've never even asked for one! i do not recall any discussion for prior PPI with the provider, and certainly knew nothing of the fuss PPI would cause at the time i took the loan out over 10 year ago.

can anyone shed any light so that i can file the doc away.

    Re: Do i have PPI?

OK, i may have answered my own question.

have looked at some other paperwork and it looks like i had at least 3 other loans for a few years before i consolidated a loan. it would appear the earlier loans (some anyway) had PPI front loaded. i think the lot was bundled up together for consolidated purposes. which may explain the 'net of insurance premium refunds comment' i honestly don't know.

i did a Sars some time ago, and there was nothing to show PPI, it didn't even show the loans- its only that i was looking through some old bank statements that i have come across that i have this information to hand.

any idea how i progress? would the fact that the PPI loans ended up in a consolidated non PPI loan make any difference if i wanted to claim?

      update
it would appear the 'net of insurance premium refunds' comment signifies that the consolidation loan did not include PPI, and/or that PPI early repayment was not to my detriment.

interestingly on one of my loan applications/agreement the 'no PPI' box is clearly marked with an x. yet on the loan statement it shows that i was charged PPI anyway! disgraceful for them to do that and disgraceful for me not even realising til now!!!

      would
their behaviour have been some kind of fraud and can i still report them for it?

Hi, sorry your posts have been missed for a reply.
If you think you were mis sold the PPI on any of the loans etc then here is some info on how you can reclaim it, easier as you seem to have all your paperwork.
