  • Taking on Cahoot and Santander

    Hi,
Just wondered if anyone has lodged a complaint with Santander re a Cahoot Flexi loan. I've seen posts regarding interest rate hikes and people have had some success getting high interest payments refunded, but I'm sure mine had some sort of insurance fee attached.

I've lodged a request with Santander for a copy of the original agreement and a breakdown of all transactions on the account whilst it was active.

I'm not too hopeful on this one as I dont have the original agreement number and as it was all online I have no paper trail or paperwork to refer to.

Anyway lets see how this goes I've given them 40days to reply to my request.

    Fingers crossed, Robin.
You've done so well with your other cases.

If you sent them a SAR you may struggle a bit with Santander, I certainly did, their original response was just 6 months worth of statements! I ended up sending an email to the office of the CEO and was eventually offered £50 compo, but the whole thing went on for 6 months.

With regards to the Cahoot flexiloans, you may want to look at this: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/new...fter-rate-hike

Yes, with Santander it is usually like that.
I won my case after emailing CEO office and it did take 4 months.
With respect to SAR, they at first denied the fact they received letter from me with the cheque and did not supply the paperwork. But I had a prove, I did send it by Special Delivery and also asked the Post Office worker to witness in writing the fact that I enclosed both, the letter and the cheque. He photocopied and witnessed it.
I provided all that to the CEO office, they apologised and wrote that they "mislaid" all my paperwork.
Everything worked out at the end.
With Santander it is very important to be determined, to keep going and not to give up.
With the help from our wonderful Forum it is possible. Legal Beagles always provide the best possible support. Thank you!
