  • CPP success - cheque has just arrived :))

Have just received a cheque for nearly £600 for CPP. :whoo: :whoo: :whoo:

Had two policies, the first one was with the A&L probably from 2001 but they are only paying from 2005. This one was the original Card Protection Plan where you listed all your cards (I had many at the time :grin. The other was from late 2005, an ID theft protection policy sold to me over the phone by an A&L operator when I rang to make a transfer. :ohwell:

As ever, I left it to the very last minute to fill in and return the forms didn't send them in till the Thursday or Friday (I think the deadline was either at the w/e or the Monday after)

I wasn't expecting that much, but I'm not going to argue about it!

      You did well

For OH's late aunt we got back £61.10 made up of £40 premiums paid since Jan 2005 plus 8% interest less tax.
I think aunt (who had all her marbles in spite of great age) probably cancelled policy after a year, and I can't be bothered querying it now as we have no proof.
Just put cash in pot and divi up between beneficiaries.

It was £116 for CPP (presumably that didn't run very long after 2005, shame they don't pay from 2001 ) and £310 for the ID theft one which started in Dec 2005. Interest @ 8% minus 20% tax deducted on the interest. I didn't realise I had paid that much on these useless policies!

I'm thinking of reclaiming the small monthly charge on my current account for the old Flexi account which is like a Flexi loan. This is like PPI but a flat fee and the Flexi account has been in credit 90% of the time. If they pay before 2005 (they should for PPI), it would be we££ worth it despite the fact the amount is so small, because it goes back 18 years! :wof:

Today received cheque for a further £62.00, right out of the blue!.
This from Bank of Scotland for period 2002-2005, £36 premiums + £32 interest less tax.

              Every little helps
