    If there's been a poor service then there will be no billing that will stand any scrutiny Also, I suggest you PM the OP & ask them what's happening. Going to the Ombudsman now will simply complicate matters AND may cause certain persons to refuse to cooperate or at the very least delay matters furthers

            Hi everyone,

            Sorry for going off radar but bad pregnancy put things on hold.
            Good news though,i wrote to hsbc and explained my situation and they replied with the offer of compensation payable directly to me .
            (I did say in my letter I was happy with just the debt written off).
            Anyway they offered me appx £300 more than my outstanding debt,so accepted of course,then rang up and settled in full for £1500 less than outstanding amount.

            So great outcome, thank you all for the advice and encouragement to push on with the claim.

            Only negative thing to come out of all this was on a separate ppi claim 'welcome' lost my original marriage certificate.
