  • Bhs gold card help

My OH was just going through some old paperwork and came across an old closed BHS Gold Account Store Card from about 6 years ago.

She has various statements but not all but there is a monthly amount for Account Premium Cover - Is this possibly PPI does anyone know ?

If so, does anyone know the contactable address to send an SAR to thanks ?

      Hiya

Firstly I do believe you would have to write to Santander as its to do with GE Cap bank ltd, so as Santander deal with GE, any sar requests goes to them, and did I give you details of the sar address previously for them Bazza? cant remember who now as there are so many lol. If not let me know and I shall have another look for these.

And yes I do believe it is the same as PPI, check below link for more info on this one......:tinysmile_twink_t2:

        Hi Di,

Many thanks again as usual lol !

Yes I believe you did now that's clarified and will get SAR sent off as soon as possible. As account was pre 2005, I believe GE may not have been regulated by FSA - Do you know how I can check this ? Otherwise it maybe another Underwriter complaint again.

If before Jan 2005 when the finance was taken out via GE, then I am sure they were not regulated with fsa until then Bazza, always give it a try anyway with Santander, and request the details of the underwriter at the same time, it may have been the same as mine Genworth - but let them give you the details anyway just to be sure.:tinysmile_twink_t2: Good luck x

Thanks Di much appreciated as always.

I've sent off SAR today and requested Underwriters details to be included :tinysmile_twink_t2:

Account was from 2003 - 2011, when account was paid up and closed.

            I will keep forum up-dated.

              Hello Bazza,

Best of luck and I hope all goes well.
Di is absolutely right, they were not regulated then.

And thanks Victoria and will ask for any assistance if need be.

I will see what SAR comes back with (but on past experience with Santander, not very much ) and will keep forum up-dated.

                      Re: Bhs gold card help

Just an up-date regarding OH potential PPI reclaim.

Santander are a disgrace.......................not only this one but with others of my own, how can they get away with dealing with every SAR and PPI complaint with the usual fob off spiel !

Well OH received with what looks like part one of SAR reply (5 days late) and apparently they are going to forward her clients application form once obtained. They state that they have included certain documentation but most of it seems to be missing ??? The worse SAR that I have ever seen to be honest !

They also state that the way they destroy their data is confidential and privy to security of the business but no information or record what has been destroyed ?

They do confirm that insurance has been applied to the mentioned account and that to contact the mentioned Santander Cards address for all future correspondences and that is it ! No apology for the delay or why the lack of information ?

Shall I get her to respond with a failed SAR letter or shall I get her to wait for a further response ?

                      Cheers

                      Bazza

                        Re: Bhs gold card help

Brazzaville, let's see what other suggest, I would wait till they send everything they can as it may give you more "ammunition".
Once they are going to send to you more documents, hopefully including the application, you'll have a better picture.
However I would also start a special file to record there all their failings. It might be useful later.
I supplied them in my final complaint to their CEO with the list of their wrongdoings like a diary, and it was certainly noticed and addressed with their apology and additional compensation.
So, you certainly should record it for something like a diary for a future reference.
Did they indicate when they will send remaining documents?
If not, I suggest to contact them in a week to check what is going on and make an entry to your diary.

May be our expert will have some suggestions for you.
I'll let Di know as well and we'll ask her for an advice.

I am not a bit surprised with their poor performance.
They are very consistent in failing us in every way.
That is why it is so important not to let them get away with it.

For starters they have already demonstrated such a bad service dealing with SAR.

Thank you for letting us know.

                          Hi Victoria,

Thanks for your comments as always.

I will make a note of relevant dates as you suggested and funny enough the delightful di was kind enough to advise me of the CEO contact details on another case.

They never provided any timeframe regarding remainder of docs or any details regarding missing items. I will await further for about a week as you suggested but they are so frustrating compared to everyone else. Their presentation is embarrassing to say the least, letters with no references or what account they are in respect of etc and I have collated a complaints file ready for the CEO once I am ready :tinysmile_twink_t2:

                          Will keep everyone up-dated

                            Hi Bazza,

noticed that this week that you have had some successes. Very well done! As Victoria and Di would say "these are indeed victories for us all".

Santander "would put your head away". As you may have read elsewhere I lost the head with them and took them to the small claims court. They did pay out but, by the time the cheque cleared it was past the date agreed in the settlement. However, I still won and in these times a victory is still that but, boy do these large companies push and push; so much so, that I think customers just give up.

I think it is a truly excellent idea from Victoria to keep a listing. As Victoria says " they are consistent in failing us in every way" !!!!!!!! The only other things we need are patience and tenacity, which we have "in spades".

                            all the best,

                            :beagle:
