PPI Northern Rock 2005/6

Hi new to this forum so appologies if missed any similar message;
Northern Rock loan with PPI taken out 2005/6 with PPI (£10k +ppi)
no medical history taken at time of app; epilespsy
no mention of terms & conditionsof PPI. namely max payout which could be made prior to term of loan
PPI has subsequently been used; insurance payments via Pinnacle
Pinnacle now saying max payments made
still loan outstanding 4 yrs (160/mth)

northern rock now outsourced loan to Kent
last year access letter sent to northern rock for terms & conditions of loan
unfortunately have no letters/t& c
no reply from northern rock

1. can a claim be made for misselling and/or
2. can a claim be made against the claim for non payment of insurance
3 who to claim; pinnacle are still the insureres; NR/KENT/PINNACLE
4 who holds original docs NR/KENT/PINNACLE

any help would be much apprecaited!

Hi and welcome and sorry for the delay.

Yes you can still make a reclaim for mis selling with your reasons you have and for non payment of the insurance, as you assumed for having insurance it would have paid out, and it may not have fully protected you, for example, it may pay out on one condition for eg, unemployment but not health due to a pre med condition, however if a successful claim been made, the amount of refund due would be reduced.
You should make the reclaim to the business who set up the loan (they arranged the loan and set up the insurance).

As the business were FSA regulated at the time you taken out the policy, you have no need to go to the Underwriter, you would however go to the underwriter if for eg the business who set up the account were not then regulated.

With that I note you said Pinnacle, was it NR that set up your account with insurance or did you find your own stand alone insurance with Pinnacle?

Hi, and thanks for taking time to reply!...yep loan taken out together with insurance with NR at point of sale over telephone;
i believe 2 contracts were signed when paperwk sent;
to nr for loan and then to pinnacle for insurance

thanks....and to the best of knowledge are NR still in existence/accepting PPI complaints or are they in take over
and so who to write to

I have found some details for you on a link below, on how to make a complaint directly to NR, and if you also want to request for any paperwork under your account, it would also be NR, they also have a link to requesting information on your account via Subject Access Request (SAR) if you wish to also request for any info etc.
