  • PPI claim from a company that has gone into administration

I am looking for some advice and guidance. I have claimed all mis-sold PPI from various companies. However I have tried in vain to reclaim PPI from a company that has gone into administration.

I was approached by a company called Space Kitchens to refit my kitchen, the finance loan was brokered through Firstplus, to pay for the new kitchen in July, 2003. I was unaware until I started reclaiming from the other companies that I had been sold PPI. I initially contacted Firstplus as they sold the loan and the paperwork that I have shows that the loan was brokered through Firstplus. However after 3 years of letters back and forth they have stated that they did not sell me the insurance and as such they will not pay out and that I should contact Space Kitchens. This is obviously a problem now as the company has gone into administration, and as such I cannot contact Space Kitchens as I have no address for them. I believe after reading a previous post that PKF(UK) LLP, were appointed as the administrators and the company ceased trading in July 2008. Where do I take this now or do I have to accept that I will not get reimbursed for mis-sold PPI? If I was able to find out where to send the letter to reclaim PPI to then I would do this. I tried contacting Cardiff Pinnacle however they state they have no record of me on their file.

Any advice would be very welcome.

    Hi and welcome

What you need to to now in this case (its the avenue the Financial ombudsman) would also suggest is to find out who the underwriter/insurer was of your policy, to double check on this request the details from First Plus, they must confirm this to you on request or ask them to send the details in the post.

Let me know once you have these details, then I can send you a copy of my letter used for my underwriter/insurer to help with your's too.:tinysmile_twink_t2:

Thanks Di, will have a look through the paperwork I have already received and if nothing states, then will give them a call requesting this information be sent out in the post. Failing that I will write to them, Firstplus have been dragging their heels a little with this claim, and trying to ascertain the insurer has been a nightmare. Will come back once I have received a response.

I have contacted Firstplus regarding payment protection insurance which was added when I purchased a kitchen through SpaceKitchens. Firstplus have written back eventually to say that the underwriter of the insurer was Lloyds by The Cassidy Travis Insurance Group Division, Lloyds Syndicate 5000 and BJ Jackson and others Syndicate 779. Can anyone help me with an address to write to for reclaiming PPI from this company and what the different syndicates mean? Extremely confusing. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
