Re: Help in advance of submitting information. Please!

    Alice,
If, by any chance you applied for your Egg Card online, apparently there were issues with PPI box being pre-ticked, which made it impossible to complete online application if you "unticked" it.

If it can help your case with Egg card, I enclose here 2 links related to pre-ticked PPI box.

    Links about pre-ticked box:

May be it is of no use for you, however, just in case.

Re: Help in advance of submitting information. Please!

      Thanks, really appreciate your input!

I really am not sure! Will see what I can decipher. The application for the Egg cards was online but I see it says it was pre ticked in 1999 I'm not sure if it was when I applied I really have no clue!

      So card 1 Egg Card
the card was taken out in jan 2003. It shows a yearly payment 2003-2005 in the moth of July. Of "card protection" I wonder if this is cpp or ppi?
Then the balance was cleared October 2005.
i transferred a balance back to card in March 2006 then in April 2006 "credit cover premium @79p per £100 appears. Now when I called Barclays for info they tell me that PPI was taken out 23rd feb 2006. Which is strange as this would be a month which I had no balance on the card?!

      Card 2 Egg mastercard
i applied online in May 2005 started to use the card in sept 2005 ppi was on the card the October. The month after it looks like I first used the card.

i have looked at what Barclays ask for and they have a box about how would I have made payments if I were to be off sick redundant etc... I am really not sure what to out here as basically I know I would have managed with support from my other half (not married) and or parents. Also I did actually get made redundant and never used the cover as I received a good redundancy package and walked straight into another job, in all honestly using the cover would not have crossed my mind!! Completely demonstrating I had no idea what it was haha!

Re: Help in advance of submitting information. Please!

        Thank you, Alice.
I am sure "card protection" is CPP, not PPI.
CPP is usually yearly premium, PPI - monthly premiums.

About other means to pay, I think the best to tell exactly what it is.
I read somewhere that money from relatives or other halves they take with less enthusiasm, they take much more seriously if you can show that you yourself are being capable to make repayments from your own savings, other insurances etc.
You mentioned your full package you had when you applied for the card.
It might be sufficient. May be you had some savings as well or some other income protection insurances.
Unless you had very high credit limit, it might be even possible to show that you could have repaid the whole amount, and definitely you were able to make a minimum payment.

The he fact that your PPI was attached to your accounts later, not from the beginning and you definitely do not see in your SAR any evidence that you ever had a telephone conversation, applying for it, sounds like a good ground for your case.

just, please give a thought about a prove that you could have repaid it.
you can mention your other half, it is fine, no problem, however it might not be a strong enough evidence for them on its own. It is better to include some of your own savings or insurances to make a stronger case.

When you called Barclays, did they tell you what was the reason your PPI appeared later, according to their records, how did you apply for that?

        thank you.

Re: Help in advance of submitting information. Please!

Hi thanks so much for your responses!
I got one claim in online yesterday. For other means to pay I had some money in a building society, cover through work (however I can't find proof of each able to get it is I need to)and and also the good old family. I can clearly demonstrate my family would help me out as they paid of the balance of my card for me a while back. A nice surprise to me!!
Lets see how it goes with that and the others eek!

            Hi

It can be confusing in regards of CPP and PPi, but you can as well reclaim on CPP too if it also applies to you, you can make a separate reclaim complaint, let us know if youm think this may apply to you too and we can make a start on the CPP reclaiming when you ready, it could well mean as well as PPI you may have a refund of the CPP too. :tinysmile_twink_t2:

              Yes, Di is right.
If you want you can reclaim CPP as well.
I hope it goes well will your PPI claims.
              Fingers crossed.
              please, keep us posted.
              best,

                    Update!

i have had a result from the Morgan Stanley card claim. I could see after the SAR I had signed the paperwork but it looked as though it had the PPI pre printed. The claim was upheld £3500.
thanks for your help, I'm waiting on the other 2 now!

Re: Help in advance of submitting information. Please!

Congratulations! It is a wonderful news, Aeh.
I believe all your cards you are complaining about are now with Barclays.
Once they upheld Morgan Stanley, recognising mis-sale and believing you did not apply for PPI, there is a good chance the same result will come from the same company in a connection with the same person. It sounds hopeful and promising.
                      Fingers crossed.

                        Thanks,

I sure hope so but won't hold my breath. The others were online whereas this one was on paper.
One was on the card from the outset and the other appeared after a balance transfer when I initially didn't opt for cover. Don't know if online is harder to dispute but I will sit tight for a result.
cheque came through today it very swift!

Re: Help in advance of submitting information. Please!

                            Another update!
so the first claim I put in that Was told I would correspondence back re the outcome by 8th September has not moved at all it appears. After hearing nothing by yesterday I contacted Barclays who have said they are still waiting on information from egg to enable them to make a decision. I thought they were supposed to stick to their time scales?
its strange as I have the information from the sar, I submitted it to Barclays who sent me the info including the egg initial application (print out of details) rather than screen capture so I am wondering exactly what they are waiting for?
